Pop star Katy Perry has taken a break from Twitter as she heads to India to marry British comedian Russell Brand
.

The Teenage Dream singer announced yesterday that she won’t be on the social networking site for a while.

She tweeted: ‘TWIT BREAK: Greatest gift you can give us is respect & ? during this private [time]. No use wasting your [time] with STOLEN or FALSE info. Thank you for this.’

The 25-year-old and Brand, 35, landed in India today, ahead of their wedding, which is reportedly due to take place in Jaipur this Saturday.

POP star Katy Perry will play at the ECHO Arena next year.

The California Gurls and Teenage Dream singer will bring her world tour to Liverpool on Sunday March 27, 2011.

After her performance of new single Firework on The X Factor at the weekend, audiences should be primed for a spectacular show.

Katy, who will soon marry comedian Russell Brand, said: “I hope it is going to engage all of your senses – sight, sound, smell, taste, touch.

“I love Liverpool. The people are so friendly. It feels like home and I love the accent.”

I just want to let you all know that I will no longer be updating the site. Fansites have been a great escape for me. Ever since I started my first site in 2004, I have been in love. I appreciate everyone who has helped me throughout the years. A special thanks to Svenn, Gertie, AJ, and Hayley. You have all helped me in more ways than you will ever know. Last summer, Katy Perry filmed a cameo for “Get Him to the Greek” and even locked lips with future fiancé Russell Brand. But just because she’s about to get married to the British movie star doesn’t mean she had enough clout to make it into his film.

“It got cut!” she told MTV News, when talking about her big MTV Movie Awards performance this Sunday. “I was like, ‘I’m sleeping with you, and you’re not gonna put me in the movie? That’s so messed up!’ ”

All joking aside, Perry is enough of a show-business professional to understand why she got cut. It might have been too weird for audiences to watch the couple make out, knowing that in real life they, well, make out.

“It seemed too much of a literal movie then, which I totally understand from a director’s perspective or from a moviegoer’s [perspective],” she said. “If you saw me and Russell making out, although it’d be cute to, ’cause that was the first moment we met, [it would feel like,] ‘There’s Russell Brand in the movie,’ not Aldous Snow, and they want it to be Aldous Snow, [so it's] completely understandable.”

Earlier this year, Perry spoke about filming the now-scrapped scene with Glamour magazine. “When he was filming ‘Get Him to the Greek,’ I did a cameo with him. My scene called for me to make out with him,” she said. “And on the way down the stairs after the scene, I was hopping like a bunny. I hop like a bunny when I’m happy — I get a bit childlike. [Laughs.] He gives me the Christmas Eve jitters.”

Pop star Katy Perry is bringing a little sugar and spice to this year’s MTV Movie Awards with a live performance of her new single, “California Gurls.” The song is the debut single off her upcoming album, Teenage Dream, which katy hopes will be “The theme song to a lot of summer loving.” The “Waking up in Vegas” singer joins Christina Aguilera on the announced Movie Awards Live Performers List and said she is excited to represent her hometown.

“I’m proud to represent the West Coast at the MTV Movie Awards in the magical glow of the Hollywood sign with my new single ‘California Gurls,’ ” Katy said in a statement. “I hope it will be the theme song to a lot of summer loving; I know it will in my house!”

Speaking of her summer lovin,’ perhaps she and fiancé Russell Brand will stage their much speculated about wedding as part of her performance… that would be an MTV Awards Show first, and fun for everyone. We’re taking full credit if that happens, by the way. Katy could also get Russell to sing a few bars of “Gurls” with her, that would be pretty badass, too.

For her wedding to “bridezilla” fiancé Russell Brand, Katy Perry already has worked out a few little – but important – details.

“I think [the wedding] will be small,” the singer, whose new single “California Gurls” just hit the Web, told PEOPLE at Friday’s 7th Annual Bag Lunch, benefiting PS Arts at the Buckingham Estate in Brentwood, Calif. “I always have a ton of people around me and I think the people that are going to share this moment with us are the people we want to integrate into each other’s lives.”

But friends of the couple shouldn’t worry about being left out of the festivities. The couple are also planning “a big, fat reception for the people who can’t make it,” Perry says.

As for the other important details – the location, the dress – Perry has some ideas for the big day. For example, the singer wants her dress designer to have special meaning.

“We have been kind of talking to [John] Galliano because that was the first [fashion] show in Paris that we kind of came out as a couple,” she says. “So if we did Galliano, it would make it full circle.”

For the location, the Santa Barbara, Calif., native always thought she would be “married and buried” in her hometown, but now she says she doesn’t want loved ones in attendance to be in familiar surroundings when she ties the knot.

“We don’t necessarily want it to be a drunk fest of people just, you know, one night and then forgetting about it,” she says. “We want it to be about the love. So sometimes to be about the love, we have to take them out of their comfort zone.”

Katy Perry contributed to the lyrics of the Truth & salvage Co. song “Old Piano” while sleeping on a couch.

The LA-based band, produced by Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes, was casually working on a new song in the living room of James Valentine, the guitarist for Maroon 5 when Perry had her stroke of genius.

“She was dating my friend, James Valentine, who plays guitar in Maroon 5. We were up at his house one night, and she was asleep. He had a piano there, and it was late. I started playing and working on a song. I just had: You’ve been playing me like an old piano/ all the notes out of key,” said Truth & Salvage Co. member Tim Jones.”Katy woke up and said, ‘What’s that you’re playing?’ I said I was working on a new song but all I have is You’ve been playing me like an old piano/ all the notes out of key. To that she responded: Singing the right words over the wrong melody. And went back to sleep … She contributed those words.”

Fresh off a tour with The Avett Brothers, the debut album from Truth & Salvage Co. will be released on May 25. They play Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton June 30.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand – who is nicknamed Rusty – have bought a cat together which they have named Krusty.

The animal-loving couple already have two feline pets between them but have added a third to their menagerie, who they have called Krusty, an amalgamation of the ‘I Kissed a Girl‘ star’s first name and the comic’s nickname Rusty.

Alongside a picture of the kitten, Katy posted on twitter: “rustyrockets and I would like to announce the birth of our 3rd child, KRUSTY! Not the chachka, the kitten : ) PROUD (sic)”

It was recently claimed that Russell had sought out a therapist to treat his cat, Morrissey, after the animal started behaving strangely.

A source said: “Morrissey keeps weeing all over the house and scratching everything. He’s gone bonkers.”

The ‘Get Him To The Greek‘ star was left amused when the animal behaviour specialist told him his pet was acting out of character because he was jealous of his relationship with Katy, whose own cat is called Kitty Purry.

The source added: “He thought it hilarious. Only he could have a cat fighting for his attention.“
