Wearing a floral off-the-shoulder dress and rocking bright red lips, Katy covers the July issue, whose cover interview promises to delve into her “her life, her loves,” and her ‘”fresh, romantic look.”
Perry’s full cover story and spread will be available on Vogue.com this Tuesday, June 18.
And it seems to be a month of firsts for Perry! The singer just joined Instagram, her first picture being a tease of her left eye for her upcoming Vogue cover.

On the effect of spending time in Nashville:
“I went to Nashville to officially record a gospel album, but I wound up with artists and composers of various other types of music far more secular, like country and folk. At that time there was also a very lively indie scene. I think there I learned to compose songs that are intended to tell a story, in which the text plays an important role and is not relegated to the role of mere filler. Songs in which to express my personality and my feelings, because that can possibly resonate with the listener. It was there that I made my first acquaintance with the music of great artists like Jonatha Brooke and Patty Griffin, but the most formative of my career as a songwriter was perhaps finally finding myself alone with my guitar, free to create. ”
On her desire to ‘evolve like Madonna’:
“I think Madonna, especially early in his career, when she was laying the foundations of her character, has been able to evolve constantly, managing to give the audience at every appearance a new visual interpretation and concept of herself. She was able to keep up the interest of the people, because you never knew with what she would come out with the next time. And, regularly, has offered a solid and consistent musical product. I hope to do the same, to make sure that people continue to be interested in me and in ten years, to find out, looking back, I have produced songs that will never be forgotten.”
On her opinion about the recent statements by President Obama in favor of marriage between same sex couples:
“I believe in equality. I believe in love without any limits. I come from a family environment where the topic lived with many prejudices, but I have shrugged them off. I hope that one day we will look to this period somewhat ‘as today we look to the period of the civil rights struggles of blacks in America in the ’60s, which is a mixture of shame and how we are happy for the progress made.”
On her look:
“My sense of style is like one of those rings that change color with mood, always evolving. When I get up, I choose my outfit depending on my mood. If it is a ‘mixture of many things’ it is because I feel many different emotions at the same time, to the point where you feel you almost have a split personality.”

With her new movie “Katy Perry: Part of Me” set to hit theaters on July 5th, Katy Perry garnered herself a little added exposure by covering the June/July 2012 of The Hollywood Reporter magazine.
The 27-year-old pop star looked picture perfect for the Joe Pugliese shot spread while dishing about everything from depicting her divorce in her upcoming film to her goal of starting her own record label.
Highlights from Miss Perry‘s interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to The Hollywood Reporter!
On her failed go at wedded life:
“I still believe in love and marriage. I’ve just learned lessons along the way. I regret nothing.”
On using class and truth when it came to her depiction of a whirlwind romance gone wrong in her upcoming movie:
“Like how I write my songs, honesty has always worked for me. So if it ain’t broke, why f—ing fix it?“
On deciding to spend her own money to help finance her movie:
“My frugal business manager [Bernie Gudvi of GSO Business Management], God bless him, was sweating, and I was like, ‘Please trust me.’ That’s kind of been the mantra I’ve said to everyone my whole life: ‘Trust me, I have a vision.’”
On her plans to start her own record label:
“When it does come to fruition, I’m going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success.”

She’s been doing her best to boost interest in her summer 3D movie, and Katy Perry amped up promotions by landing the cover of the May 2012 issue of Teen Vogue magazine.
The 27-year-old “Firework” singer looked colorful in a wild blue coif along with a Zac Posen gown, CC Skye earrings, Atelier Swarovski by Zaldy bracelets and Sermoneta Gloves gloves as she posed for the Sebastian Kim shot spread.
Meanwhile, highlights from Miss Perry‘s interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Teen Vogue!
On whether she still gets excited over strong response to her music:
“Of course! I’m not like, ‘Ugh, number one again.’ It’s funny, though—my label gets so caught up in the statistics, just because they’re excited. But for me, I don’t need to grind it into anyone’s head that I’m popular. If you like my music, great, and if you don’t, whatever. I’m going to keep making it either way. This does feel a bit like the record that never ends. But I wanted to release The Complete Confection for the hard-core fan who wants everything: three new songs, the remixes, and it’s all in a cute little package.”
On deciding to make a movie:
“I wanted to document the tour, because when we started to book these really big venues, I felt like I was going all in. And I figured that by the end of it I’d be bankrupt or else I’d look like the smartest music businesswoman of my age, and I thought either outcome would be interesting. More than that, though, I wanted to show people this parade that surrounds me … I wanted them to see the engine. I think sometimes they look at me and wonder, How is it possible that she continues to have this kind of success? Why are the stars so aligned for her? But, while that is a factor, it’s not the whole story. I also work my tail off! And, of course, I wanted people to be able to experience the tour and all the joy it brought, which is why we shot it in 3-D. And this is amazing 3-D. It’s definitely not just a marketing tool.”
On whether she was inspired by other pop documentaries:
“A little. Madonna is everything to me, and that movie is amazing because it caught her at a time when she was a bit more vulnerable. I wanted to do that too, to capture a snapshot of who I am now so that I can remind myself what I’ve lost if I ever do become totally jaded. [Laughs]”
On being a little more glamorous than the average singer-songwriter:
“I don’t like to take fashion too seriously. I love it, and I am so grateful when big brands want to associate with me, but mostly I just want to take chances and have fun and truly live. And sometimes that means wearing some ridiculous, cat-inspired outfit rather than whatever happens to be in this season.”
On whether she sees herself getting tired of being famous:
“I’m tired of being famous already! But I’m not tired of creating. Fame is, I think, just a disgusting by-product of what I do. It’s quite a delicate creature— it’s a wild animal of sorts. It can love you, and then it can attack you. I still want to be as approachable and relatable as possible—when I meet fans and they’re crying, I’ll say, “Calm down, there’s nothing to cry about. I’m not going to bite you or attack you or grant you three wishes. Let’s just hang out and have a good time.” But really, I stopped focusing on what other people think a while ago. If you try to be everything to everyone, you’ll only end up completely confused.”
 Photoshoot & Portrait Sessions > 2012 > 003
As we know, Katy Perry is featured on the cover of “Interview Magazine” looking gorgeous as ever. Now we can finally have a look at the amazing photoshoot and at the interview made by Kristen Wiig.
 Photoshoot & Portrait Sessions > 2012 > 002
The March 2012 cover of Interview Magazine leaked online earlier yesterday (February 27), and it revealed a dramatically different looking Katy Perry on its front page.
The “Part Of Me” singer shed her usually playful, girly self for the black and white spread, unveiling a very Amy Winehouse-like seduction in the pose.
In the snapshot, the 27-year-old is dons a blinged out bra top with long black gloves and dangling diamond earrings.
After offering up the sneak peek of their latest celeb-fronted issue, the mag released a statement about it on their site, reading, “If you haven’t already heard, Katy Perry is our March covergirl. We’re pretty excited (!), especially as she’s interviewed by one of our favorite comedians, Kristen Wiig. Above is a sneak peek of Katy’s cover, shot by Mikael Jansson and styled by Karl Templer. More to come later in the week…”
We’re not gonna lie, this new couple is kinda hot bizarre!
Supposedly after hitting it off at the VMAs, British lothario Russell Brand whisked Katy Perry away to Thailand for a week-long lovers’ vacay! Though Katy didn’t mention Brand specifically, she tweeted about her trip:
“After a week in magical Thailand I’m ready to face the real world again. Been schooled on Morrissey, Oscar Wilde & Peter Sellers… inspired.”
And also, Russel tweeted about being in Thailand as well.
“I’m in Thailand is wrong to ride an elephant? From an animal rights perspective?Or to pull it’s tail?Or have sex with it? It’s a moral maze.”
Russell Brand is known for his admiration of the three men, hinting at their new romance. The twosome supposedly shared a kiss at Lady Gaga’s VMA after-party and since then they haven’t stopped the flirtation.
Since, I know Katy is concerned about how I feel on the [alleged] relationship… I don’t like it. Where is Markus through all of this. Sometimes she needs him to smack her into shape! But I’ll be watching and I’ll be keeping you all updated. What do you all think? Leave a comment, whether it’s good, bad, or flat out ugly =]
Katy Perry was not caught kissing a girl, but was allegedly seen snuggling up with MTV’s VMA host, Russell Brand, reports MSNBC.
The 34-year-old actor and comedian was spotted getting cozy and locking lips with the sexy vixen Perry at Sunday night’s post VMA party.
According to the New York Posts Page Six, the duo was caught in action following the awards show at NYC hotspot Avenue. “They were sitting very close together, flirting and whispering to each other with their faces very close. Then Russell leaned in for a long kiss. It didn’t look like this was the first time. He was looking extremely pleased with himself,” the source said.
Ironically, onstage Brand joked about Perry’s tight pants and mentioned that the two were staying at the same hotel. Later, he said, “I think I might have a bit of a thing for Katy Perry.”
Brand was one of the few performers that stood up for Kanye West after his upstaging Taylor Swift debacle at the VMA‘s telling upset fans to “Calm down, no one died, it’s all right,” the comedian said, “In the past, I’ve made mistakes and done things a little bit daft. If I think someone has done things that I don’t agree with, I think, well, I’ve done things in the past that I’m not proud of. I know Kanye, and I know he’s a nice bloke. We all make mistakes in life.”
Remember the Australian fashion designer, Katie Perry, that had been served a cease-and-desist order from lawyers representing our Katy, aimed at stopping her from trademarking her birth name for a clothing label. Well, she has posted a video that she hopes Katy will see. She seems sweet and I hope this will all work out. Special thanks to Zannie for bringing this to my attention.
What’s the difference between a girl-kissing pop sensation and an Australian luxury loungewear designer? Well, two letters: “i” and “e” — and apparently that’s too close for comfort.
On Tuesday (June 16), an Australian newspaper reported that a local fashion designer, Katie Perry, had been served a cease-and-desist order from lawyers representing singer Katy Perry, aimed at stopping her from trademarking her birth name for a clothing label.
According to The Australian, Katie Perry started a “luxury loungewear” fashion line more than two years ago and had been selling her designs online and through local markets. Last week, she opened her first retail outlet in a suburb of Sydney and filed paperwork to trademark her name for both the store and her line.
That’s when she received a letter from a Queensland-based legal firm, Fisher Adams Kelly, who were acting on behalf of Katy Perry, asking her to stop selling her line.
“I got such a huge shock. It really felt like I was being intimidated and bullied into signing everything away,” Katie Perry told the newspaper. “It asked me to give up the trademark, withdraw sales of my clothes, withdraw any advertising and any Web sites and sign that I will not in the future use a similar trademark to Katy Perry. I pretty much burst into tears.”
Perry told The Australian that she was born Katie Jane Perry and, as such, she has no plans to cease and desist just because her name happens to be similar to an internationally famous pop star.
“I love my business. I’m not going to give it away without a fight, either,” she said. “I’m not trying to become a singer. I’m not pretending to be her. This is my income. And it’s the livelihood of my contractors as well.”
Katy Perry is scheduled to play three shows in Australia in August, which should be, uh, interesting. MTV News’ attempts to contact her label, Capitol Records, for comment on the situation were unsuccessful.
Singer Katy Perry is reportedly dating Josh Groban, after admitting to having an “embarrassing crush” on him.
The pop singer recently said: “Who’s my most embarrassing crush? I suppose it would have to be Josh Groban. He is actually really cute.”
According to Perez Hilton, a source said of the pair: “They’ve been trying to keep it very low profile.”

Katy Perry won one of the big prizes at France’s main music award ceremony – but it wasn’t meant for her.
The star yesterday (January 17) claimed the gong for Best International Song at the NRJ Awards in Cannes, for her 2008 worldwide smash ‘I Kissed A Girl’. However, the real winner was Rihanna for ‘Disturbia’.
Host Nikos Aliagas told the BBC there had been a mistake in the vote-counting. Perry, who was joined by the likes of Duffy and Coldplay at the event, did win the prize, for her 2008 major label debut ‘One Of The Boys’.
The winners at the ceremony, which was celebrating its tenth birthday, were voted for by listeners of radio station NRJ. The NRJ Awards helped kick off of the opening day of the annual Midem music industry conference in Cannes.
Katy Perry feels “awful” about the strange effects she is having on her fans.
The I Kissed a Girl singer says she’s worried about meeting young fans after one experience went wrong.
She reveals, “I went to get a soda pop from the lobby of my hotel and I was just in my hot pink monkey-and-banana-print pyjamas, which was weird enough.
“But there was a girl, she looked like she was about 13, she saw me and she just fainted. I felt awful. It was like a bad dream.”
Perry – who recently split from boyfriend Travis McCoy – recently blasted the media for “dissecting” the comments she makes on stage.
She blogged, “I don’t give statements about my personal life. The stories read about the things I say introducing some of my songs are merely to explain the forthcoming song.
“I enjoy being myself on stage and that’s what you expect of me. I have made many of the same introductions before… just lately everyone’s dissecting my every word. Understandable.
“When I wanna share something with the world, the world will know… Otherwise, stop looking for a story, or an explanation.”
