Just a year and a half after she purchased it, soon-to-be divorcee Katy Perry is getting rid of her and Russell Brand‘s Big Apple love nest, the New York Post reports.

A “mystery buyer” snagged the swanky two-bedroom duplex, located on North Moore Street in NYC’s Tribeca neighborhood, for nearly all of its $2.75 million asking price (Perry, 27, had purchased the pad for around that price back in September 2010, one month before tying the knot with Brand).

The “Firework” singer and her husband of 14 months split last December; according to his divorce filing, the Arthur actor will not seek spousal support from his estranged wife, who is worth nearly $70 million.

Perry, for her part, seems focused on moving forward; lately, the pop star has been spending time with Florence and the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd, whom she was spotted making out with at Coachella.

Though her fling with Ackroyd is new, “They’re having a fabulous time,” an insider tells Us Weekly of the pair. “It’s cute puppy love!”

Katy Perry has a smelly film crew following her around shooting her latest movie.

The 27-year-old beauty is currently being filmed by an English production team for her part-biopic, part-concert movie – which will be released later this summer – but she doesn’t understand why they don’t wash their hair on a regular basis, but she believes it is down to their nationality.

She said: ”I’ve got friends who are English who are filming me for my movie. Anytime I go out wearing a sweater that looks any type of grandma-ish they steal it from me.

”There’s one whose name is Ed. He’s real skinny, he showers every day but washes his hair about every three weeks. That’s what the English boys do, all those hip English boys they just don’t wash their hair because they think they won’t get that cool look.

”But I love the people of England, they’re so lovely and courteous. The real people of England care, they mean well. Maybe they talk (expletive) behind your back, but they’re so sweet to your face.”

Katy – who split from British comedian Russell Brand in December 2011 after 14 months of marriage – was recently inspired to dye her hair blue after seeing her one of her favorite actress’ Kate Winslet star as a blue-haired character in 2004 romantic drama movie “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.”

She added: ”I always wanted to go blue because I love the movie ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind‘. And Kate Winslet, who I adore and think is one of the greatest, most awesome actresses in the whole world has blue hair in that film. So I saw it six or eight months ago and I thought, ‘That’s where I’m going next.’

”I wash every pore and orifice every day just in case you were wondering. I used serum from small lizards or something weird.”

She may be cooking for one, but Katy Perry takes her kitchen skills seriously.

At the 20th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party at The City of West Hollywood Park in Beverly Hills Sunday, the 27-year-old singer got in a bidding war with movie producer Steve Tisch.

“NeilPatrickHarris was beat boxing while chef Cat Cora and DavidBurka sang [SnoopDogg's] ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ to sell a cooking experience during the auction,” an attendee tells Us Weekly. Perry stood up and waved a bid of $50,000, with Tisch eventually offering to fork over $80,000.

“Katy emptied her purse out jokingly for the cameras before she and Steve agreed to share the prize for $100,000,” the attendee adds. “Katy got up and hugged him delightedly. She seemed a bit tipsy, but not messy at all.”

Katy Perry is cutting Russell Brand out of her life in more ways than one.

The 27-year-old “Firework” singer has unfollowed her soon-to-be ex-husband on Twitter. As of Friday, Perry is still one of the 78 people Brand subscribes to via the social networking site.

It’s not surprising, given that Perry is only communicating with Brand, 36, via phone or email. “She’s limiting those interactions,” a source tells the new issue of Us Weekly (out now). “He’s being so atrocious that she feels like she never really knew him.”

Perry has been keeping Brand off her mind by focusing on her career: she performed in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Thursday, and she recently shot an Adidas ad in Santa Barbara, Calif.

“She doesn’t want to look battered and have people for sorry for her,” a Perry source tells Us. “She’s very strong and confident.”

It was no white Christmas for Katy Perry.

The newly blonde “Teenage Dream” singer, 27, soaked up some tropical sun on Sunday, flaunting her body in an itty-bitty bikini while frolicking through the ocean in Hawaii.

The pop star was vacationing on Kauai in a private rented luxury villa.

As for the two, an onlooker tells us, “Katy and Russell looked very happy when they stepped off their private plane in Kauai before Christmas weekend.”

During her time at the beach, Perry was joined by BFF Markus Molinari, among other friends. (Russell was not pictured in the photos at the beach.) And she appeared to enjoy the water, while also taking time to relax on the sand.

She’s gone brunette, pink, black and most recently blonde, but now Katy Perry is admitting that all those dye jobs have taken a toll on her hair! In an interview with E! Online’s Marc Malkin, Perry reveals that the damage is so bad, she could end up buzzing off her tresses in the future.

“I’ll probably have to shave my head one day because of all of it,” the dye-loving diva shares. Time to start those hot oil treatments ASAP, Katy!

While she still has a head full of blonde hair, Katy is enjoying her new look. “I’m having fun with my hair color because … I was black-haired for 10 years,” she said. “That was a long time, so I just decided to change things up, try new things and see what worked.”

And worked it has. As reported by AOL Music earlier in the week, Perry‘s new ‘do has her feeling rejuvenated. “I feel like I’m 16 all over again, because this is the same haircut I had when I was 15 and 16,” shared Katy. “So everyone’s calling me [by my real name], Katy Hudson right now — my family at least.”

If Katy needs an excuse to stop coloring her tresses, many doctors do recommend avoiding hair dye during pregnancy. And since Miss Perry was spotted out this week sporting what seems to be a baby bump, she may just have found the best reason ever to give her stressed strands a break!

Katy Perry and Russell Brand are reportedly planning to spend the festive period in London with the comedian’s family and friends.

The ‘Firework‘ singer is said to be excited about spending Christmas in London and the two have arranged for Katy’s parents to join them for the holidays

“Katy thinks London is magical at this time of year and she knows how important it is for Russell to see his friends and family, having spent so long away from them while living with her in America,” a source told The Mirror.

“With their families living so far apart, it is obviously difficult for them to get everyone in the same place over the holidays,” they explained. “But they’re arranged for Katy‘s parents to fly to London so they can spend Christmas there with Russell‘s mother Barbara.”

The couple, who married in October 2010, are said to be excited about spending some quality time together after a hectic year with their work.

The ‘One That Got Away‘ singer recently admitted she was looking forward to taking some time off afte wrapping her ‘California Dreams’ tour, and is in no rush to begin work on her third studio album .

Katy and Russell are also said to be planning a trip to India, the place where they wed last year, to celebrate New Year’s Eve.

Katy Perry is at the center of $3 million legal showdown between celebrity photo agency Mavrix and CraveOnline Media, a company it accuses of pilfering copyrighted images of the singer and profiting off of them on its websites.

It is the tenth such copyright infringement lawsuit that the company has filed in the past two years against defendants such as MSNBC’s website (which was eventually dropped) and The Daily Mail of London.

Mavrix accuses CraveOnline’s Idontlikeyouinthatway website of reproducing, publicly distributing and publicly displaying “copyright protected photographs belonging to Mavrix on numerous occasions” without its permission, writes Courthouse News Service.

Mavrix claims it commands as much as $100,000 for a celeb snapshot and that by illegally using their copyright-protected photos, CraveOnline and its subsidiaries, “have driven massive traffic to their website in part due to the presence of the sought after and searched-for celebrity images.

“As such, content websites may effectively monetize the content on their websites by securing eyeballs on the sites which translates to ad revenue; this is in distinction to traditional pre-Internet print media who could only monetize content by selling it to end users.”

Mavrix seeks $3 million in damages for copyright infringement and an injunction to stop CraveOnline from using its photos in the future.

In a similar case in Oct. 2010, Mavrix sued Fanpop, the operator of a network of online fan clubs, for posting 21 of its photographs showing a bikini-clad Perry on vacation in a bikini. That case was settled for an undisclosed amount.

Litigious-happy Mavrix was also involved in a Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling this past August which gave the go-ahead for these sorts of claims to be filed in California courts. The court found that because Mavrix’s legal targets focused ”on the California-centered celebrity and entertainment industries,” it naturally had a connection with California and thus, the paparazzi shop got permission to bring lawsuits in the state.
